Miyuki's Japanese Website - The Miyuki Channel - Matching Delicas To DMC25 Embroidery Thread - Mayuki 2025

In our previous couple of blogs we've taken a look at the Japanese version of the Miyuki website and within it the Miyuki Channel category - a resource section hosting lots of tutorials, videos and useful links to help you learn all sorts of different beading skills and styles using Miyuki products. Here's a reminder on how to find it:

Accessing The Website

You can find the website two ways:

1. Simply go to the web address https://www.miyuki-beads.co.jp/

2. On their English version of the website, at the top of their page there's a link to the Japanese website - just click on it!

To see the Miyuki Channel section click on the link on the Home page.

The Miyuki Channel section is a free resource showing how you can use Miyuki beads in different ways, along with links to downloadable PDF's and videos. Please note, the PDF's are in Japanese, however they do have pictures and diagrams that you can easily follow. Alternatively, there are free websites where you can upload the PDF and it will translate it for you.

Our new blog is a helpful resource for everyone who enjoys embroidery with beads or multi-media beadwork, as it's all about matching Miyuki Delicas to DMC 25 thread.

DMC Cotton Size 25 Embroidery Floss is a long, soft, superior quality floss that is ideal for various needlework projects such as hand embroidery, cross stitch, and needlepoint.

It can also be easily incorporated into multi-media craft projects, including those with Miyuki Delica and Seed beads.

On the Japanese Miyuki website under the Miyuki Channel category is a 'Data Channel' where you can find a handy chart detailing a list of Miyuki Delicas that match 42 colours of DMC 25 thread.

At the top of the page there is a button where you can view and download and/or print a version of this chart:

You'll see the chart is handstitched to show 4 main columns of thread and Miyuki Delica colours. Each main column is divided into three sub-columns that show:

1.  The colour of the thread (left column)

2.  The colour of Delica bead in a matte finish (middle column)

3.  The colour of Delica bead in a shiny finish (right column)

As you scroll further down the page there's some examples showing some exquisite examples of bead embellished embroidery and an explanation of how this collaboration came about.

Adding beads to your embroidery or multi-media work can add sparkle, texture and highlights that help take your creations to the next level. Have fun playing around with the colour combinations on the chart and adding in new colours for a truly unlimited mix!

If you're more of a fan of Miyuki Seed beads, you can also use this chart to find the Seed bead colour number equivalent:

Check out our blog on Miyuki's fantastic Delica to Round Seed Bead Conversion Table tool where you can input Miyuki colour numbers to see their colour number equivalents in Delica/Seed beads.
