Welcome to CJ Beaders

CJ Beaders has been supplying beads, tools and jewellery-making materials to the beading community since 2004. Founded by Claire and her mum, Jane, in Basingstoke, Hampshire, the business began with their shared love of making beaded jewellery and soon grew into a specialist supplier of high-quality beading products.

Graham joined the business, bringing an engineering eye to the tools, findings and techniques they used. As interest grew among fellow beaders, CJ Beaders began importing and supplying Beadalon products in 2005.

Over the following years, the business expanded its range and developed relationships with leading suppliers, becoming a distributor for Beadalon, Shesto, Xuron and GRIFFIN in 2009, and John Bead in 2011. As the wholesale side grew, Graham established Wholesale Beads Ltd in 2013, allowing CJ Beaders to focus on its retail customers.

Many of our long-standing customers will remember our first bead shop in Highcliffe, which opened in 2010, and our subsequent move to the warehouse shop. Since September 2025, CJ Beaders has operated exclusively online, continuing to supply beaders across the UK and beyond.

A new chapter

In September 2026, Hannah and George took over CJ Beaders, continuing the family-business tradition established by Claire, Jane and Graham.

Hannah has been a CJ Beaders customer for a long time and is a bead artist specialising in French Beading, the intricate technique of creating flowers from glass seed beads and wire. Through her own work, she understands the importance of beautiful materials, a dependable supplier and knowledgeable, personal service.

Taking over CJ Beaders brings together Hannah's passion for beadwork and her experience as both a maker and a customer. Alongside George, she is looking forward to getting to know the CJ Beaders community, preserving everything that makes the business special and developing its range for the years ahead.

Graham and Jane are working closely with Hannah and George throughout the handover, sharing their considerable knowledge and experience to ensure a smooth transition.
