Chatons Crystal Beads

Crystal chatons are beautifully faceted glass crystals designed to add brilliant sparkle, colour and light to jewellery, beadwork and decorative craft projects. Their precision-cut facets reflect the light from different angles, creating an eye-catching, high-quality crystal finish.
Unlike beads, **chatons do not have holes for threading**. They are normally set into specially designed chaton settings, bezels, mounts or jewellery components, although some styles can also be glued into suitable recesses or incorporated into bead embroidery and mixed-media designs.
What are Crystal Chatons?
A crystal chaton is a small, faceted crystal or glass stone, traditionally with a pointed or shaped reverse rather than a completely flat back. This allows the crystal to sit securely inside a purpose-made setting while helping maximise its brilliance. Available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colours and finishes, crystal chatons are ideal when you want the sparkle and appearance of a gemstone without needing a drilled bead
What Can Crystal Chatons Be Used For?
Crystal are extremely versatile and can be used for:
- Jewellery making, including earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces and rings
- Beadwork and bead embroidery - some of the large chatons can be bezelled
- Crystal jewellery components and settings
- Embellishing clasps, connectors and findings (try gluin them into Kabela components)
- Costume jewellery and fashion accessories
- Decorating hair accessories, brooches and statement pieces
- Mixed-media and craft projects
- Adding sparkling accents to handmade gifts and decorative items
They work particularly well alongside seed beads, Delica beads, Czech glass beads, pearls and other jewellery-making components, allowing you to create designs with contrasting textures and plenty of sparkle.
