The Beadsmith’s XL Gel is the perfect way to oxidize your metal and metal jewellry pieces. In minutes you can create an aged look that produces a blue, green, or brown film and naturally takes decades to see develop. Formulate an Old World, restored farmhouse or cottage-core look when you play with the amounts of solution and water to create a rainbow of effects! Patina can change colour dramatically depending on humidity and temperature and you will probably notice the changing of colours in some areas. That is the beauty of patina; it will highlight and darken as time passes, becoming more unique and beautiful as you wear it!

Apply the liquid to silver, copper and some bronze, brass, metal leaf and metal clay alloys. Make sure your metal is clean by using sandpaper and then rinse and dry.

Instructions: Shake before use for consistent results. Mix 1 teaspoon XL Gel per 12 fl. oz or 355ml of heated water (approximately 140°F/60°C) for darkest patina. Dip metal into solution or apply solution using a fine mist sprayer (strain through paper towel first), brush or rag. Rinse with baking soda and water mixture to neutralize.

XL Gel is non-flammable and there is no dry inhalation hazard. It is incompatible with strong acids and alcohols. Avoid showering, bathing, or swimming with finished piece. When making the mixture, the solution will be hot. Warning-to treat contact with skin, wash with water. For eye, flush with water. If swallowed, give water/milk, and induce vomiting.
