Regular size has a hole of size of  0.5mm), (0.021") suitable for wire up to 0.5mm thick.

Wire Guardians are used to strengthen your wire at it's weakest point ie where it joins the clasp. They have a recessed tunnel to thread the wire through and then crimp as normal. You use it in the same way as you would French wire except it is rigid.
